How has it possibly been another month!? I love doing these posts & gathering my top finds each month. Only 4 this month but they are all gems in my book!
#1 Sunglasses – I am always down for a good sunglasses steal! I was buying DIFF lately but these are literally half the price & identical! SCORE!
#2 Wedge Boots – I have always LOVED the Sorel boots like this but they’re $150! These are from Target and with their cartwheel deal they had, I got them for $29! They are true to size & super comfy!
#3 Happy Light – If you live in MN, you NEED this. I’ve been using it for a week now & I can seriously tell a difference. I use it right away in the morning for 20-30 minutes. I have even used it mid afternoon too for a little natural pick me up! It has given me an extra boost of energy & I haven’t felt so BLAH. I also have been sleeping great @ night. This is going to be my MN winter survival method until I get out of here!
#4 Michael Kors Raincoat – I purchased this in AZ but I had been eyeing it up on their website prior to my trip. It fits SO perfectly! I love MK coats because they make XS and they just fit petite gals the right way! I am also obsessed with this olive army green color. They have a few colors to choose from.
Wow! The month of October absolutely flew by! As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I have been busy working away on the MBA prereqs and just not in the mood to blog. More on what I’ve been going through next week. But for now, I am going to do a quick post with my favorite finds for my 4 legged baby MIA.
#2 – Kibble Bubble Dog Treat Pouch: I got this so we always have treats & snacks on the go! (like mother like daughter) It holds quite a few treats & they surprisingly do not fall out. I just hooked it right to the leash/poop bag thing I carry.
#3 – Silicone Ice Cube Trays: This may seem weird to have on a dog list, but I use these to make homemade doggy breath mints! Just mix greek yogurt with fresh parsley & mint. I freeze them and make little cubes to give her for treats. They come with nice covers too. I originally had plastic ones and learned the hard way that those will break easily. These silicone ones make getting the cubes out easily!
#4 – Cloud Star Chewy Treats: I love these because they are so tiny & soft. I hide any pills/medicine for Mia on these & they are easy to carry on the go!
#5- CBD Oil: I have been getting Lazarus Naturals but once my current bottle runs out, I am going to try Hempworx … My lovely friend (Amanda) sells it & I am looking forward to trying! Here is Amanda’s link if you are interested: https://www.hempworx.com/sparkfiregreen
#6 – Sherpa Fleece Blanket (LOL): Another one that seems weird to have on a dog list but SERIOUSLY … Mia loves this thing! If your dog loves to get cozy, this is the perfect blanket!
#7 – Dog Bed: This is LEGIT the best dog bed ever. Sometimes I wake up and can’t find Mia in bed …. she is always burrowed deep into this thing!!
#8 – Nail Dremel: I do Mia’s nails @ home & this thing works wonders! I tried a few different ones before getting this one & they don’t even compare. I use it 2x a week & she does great with it. I love that you can recharge it & it actually takes length off her nails effortlessly.
So there’s that! If you are a fur parent, I definitely suggest checking some of these items out!
Just in time, on the last Friday of September! I feel like I’ve been finding all sorts of gems lately! I’ll share my top ten fun and/or practical purchases of the month. Everything is linked if you’re interested!
#1 – BATHROOM SPINNING TURNTABLE – I came across this on IG and I was in need of some organization in my bathroom cabinet. This is perfect! I keep my most used items in it for easy access. If you are tight on space this is a life saver!
#2 – OVER THE CABINET HANGING STORAGE – This was another great IG/Target find! It fits perfectly inside my cabinet in the bathroom. I keep my blow dryer, flat iron & curling iron in it. It created some extra shelf space as a result. Love it.
#3 – SILICONE FACE MASK BRUSHES – I purchased a tub of that Aztec healing clay to use for weekly face masks and it’s an absolute mess to put on and you don’t want it going down the drain because it will harden in your pipes. So I found these awesome silicone brushes that make applying the clay mask super easy. I just wipe it off with a wet paper towel after. I also figured out to make the clay mask in a ziplock so that you don’t have to clean a bowl out without getting the debris in your sink drain! Hack!
#4 – LONG SLEEVE SHIRTS – who doesn’t love a solid classic long sleeve! They are fitted and ribbed. I of course, bought in 3 colors. LOL.
#5 – CND VINYLUX NAIL POLISH – I have been giving my nails a break from gel & dip mani’s since July & painting them myself. This is legit the best nail polish ever. It goes on so smooth, lasts an entire week without chipping & dries super fast! Highly recommend. I just bought another one this week so now I have 3 colors to rotate between.
#6 – MAKEUP BOX – I think I came across this on IG but can’t totally recall. It’s amazing though. I do not want anything out on my bathroom counter. I like it to be clean & clutter free. I also hate makeup bags where you have to dig and can never find anything without dumping it all out. This is the perfect solution! And you can grab it & go when traveling. Highly recommend! You can also adjust the sizes of each compartment to make it your own!
#7 – PINK PUMPKIN – I am probably more excited than I should be about this! HA! I just hate like clunky ugly colored holiday decor. I know, I know. I got rid of most holiday items when I moved and only want a few things out to keep my place clean & simple. I spotted this on a target IG account and had to have it. It’s glass & the perfect shade of light pink!
#8 – ADIDAS NMD R1 PRIMEKNIT SHOES – My addiction with shoes will never die down. I just can’t help myself. These are the latest & greatest for me. I love them! They are actually men’s so I had to size way down but they fit fine! I like the off white creamy tan color a lot.
#9 – WOOL BLEND COAT – I have wanted this coat for awhile! I just love the color. Especially now that I’m a Corporate worker, I need some stylish coat options! Found this online @ the Gap Outlet.
#10 – PLATFORM SLIP ON SNEAKER – I set out to DSW a couple weeks ago to get a new pair of the Steve Madden platform slip ons but came across these babies on clearance for half the price, so decided to try them out. They are really comfy & I have received lots of compliments when I wear them to work.
So there you have it! A glimpse into the random stuff I order – HA! Who knows what next month will bring!?
This month I am going to feature some of the new exciting finds that I have purchased for my new place. If you are in the market for any new home items, this post may spark some ideas. As I mentioned in my post last week, I am downsizing to a studio, so I had a lot to get rid of and in turn, had to get some new smaller items that fit the studio life. I will be doing a tour post of my new digs once I move in there so for now you will have to envision these items in my new cute little space!
I had planned to use my bedroom TV stand that I already had but when I sold that TV and hauled in my living room TV it was clear that thing was not going to be strong enough to support the massive living room TV. I wanted something clean & sleek – not a ton of drawers and places for junk to accumulate. This is surprsingly sturdy and I love how it looks. I plan to angle it in a corner in my new apartment.
My new entry way area is a rectangle shape but the front door and bathroom door open into it, so space is limited. I decided to go for something round for the corner. I am happy with this! It is very sturdy and the wood looks nice.
Chairs – TJMAXX [link is to an almost identical pair because tjmaxx doesn’t them have online]
I stumbled across these babies one day at TJMAXX and they just spoke to me. LOL. For real though. I had this vision of a little bistro 2 person table against the window in my new apartment – dinner with a view!
So along with that random chair vision I had in TJMAXX, I pictured it all with a table similar to this. I found a couple others I liked but they were over $300 and I wasn’t totally sure on the wood color. This is actually a laminate top, most likely the reason its more cost effective, but it really looks like wood in person and its super cute with my chairs. Alex & I have eaten at it a couple times in my current apartment and it works great.
Okay, I seriously had a major struggle with comforter shopping. This was my FOURTH one I bought. I wanted most of my place to be really neutral. Since I’m moving into a studio my bed will be out in the open so I thought that I could have one pattern/pop of color item and it would be my bedding. After trying a few though, I decided to go with a plain dark gray color. I also have this thing where I’m VERY particular about the texture of comforters and how they show wrinkles. LOL. I like quilts because they lay heavier and show less wrinkles. I think this will look great.
If you don’t shop @ Home Goods you are seriously missing out. SO MUCH GOOD STUFF. I got my entire bathroom towel collection there for a very good price. I also got kitchen stuff, throw pillows, art & so much decor from there. Seriously a must check out. If you like HG/TJMAXX/MARSHALLS, Tuesday Morning is another good store with a similar concept. I found some great rugs there.
The shower curtain is from Target and again just drew me in to the simplicity and I like the water color look.
My big purchase! I went back and forth on what I wanted to do at the new apartment couch wise. I only had a maximum of 6 feet to work with. I thought about a loveseat but most loveseats that small were not that comfortable and then I would need an ottoman of some kind or a coffee table. They were also so short that even I would not be able to lay on it. Then I thought about an oversized chair. Every one of these I looked at though had bulky armrests and two people would not be able to sit in one of those things together. So then I randomly stumbled across this baby! I am so excited for this! It is like the perfect lounge area. I spent a pretty penny on it but it’s very comfortable and a quality brand that will last me many years to come. I think Mia is going to love this thing too!
I bought several new pieces of art but this is my favorite! I’ll show more when I do my tour post next week. This is coming from Ireland so hopefully it will be here by then. I bought a really similar matted frame from Target to put this print in. I kept a few pieces from my current place too that will make their debut in my new space.
That’s all for this week! This little shop-a-holic needs to take a retail therapy break! HA! My next post will be a tour of the new place! SO EXCITED!
Welcome to the July edition of my favorite finds. This is basically a post I do each month with any fun finds I have purchased recently. This month is loaded with 15 awesome finds. Anything available online will be linked. Hopefully, you find something new to try! Enjoy!
#1 – Universal Threads Leopard Clutch: $14.99 at Target. This one is unfortunately not offered online at the moment, so you’ll have to go stalk your local Target to snag one. I had been seeing these all over IG and knew I had to track one down. They have a few different colors but obviously, I opted for the leopard version. It is great because it will work with brown & black outfits. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
# 2 – A New Day Black Sleeveless Dress: $14.99 at Target. I wore this when traveling to Denver and it was perfect. It is super lightweight & stretchy. Pure Comfy.
#3 – Fake Grass Plants: $13.99 for two from Amazon. This is my second set of these babies. I just love how bright & bold the green is. They are nice quality & are prefect for adding a little pop of color.
#4 – Apple Watch Band: $12.99 from Amazon. I love this watch band! It is even better looking in person. The pics definitely don’t do justice. The color is the perfect shade of brown. It has held up really well too.
#5 – Lunch Box: $22.99 from Amazon. I am obsessed with cute lunch bags! I was looking for something large enough to fit my ice pack, meal prep container and a couple water bottles. This bag literally fits all that and still has room! If you need something large/tall, this is perfect. I loved the pattern too! The brown bag pictured below with the lunch box, is also on this list!
#6 – Lanyard: $12.50 from Etsy. I was looking for a cute everyday lanyard for work. The fabric is super soft. I am sure there are other colors/styles, this was my fave though.
#7 – Neighborhood Typography City Map Print: $45 from Etsy. There are different cities, sizes and colors to choose from. I got this for Alex so I got his hometown, DC in black. I ordered the 18×24 size and then framed it myself once it came. It is super cool looking in person. Great art find!
#8 – Leopard High Waisted Swimsuit: $17.99 per piece at Target. I can’t control my impulses with anything leopard print. These were my first high waisted bottoms and bralette top. Love this style!
#9 – K Mug: on sale for $4.99 at Target. Who doesn’t love a good coffee mug. This is so my style. White, Gold & Flowers = PERFECTION. There’s one of my fake grass plants at work too! I have them everywhere, HA!
#10 – Calvin Klein Ruffle Sleeve A Line Dress: $134 at Macy’s. There is not much to say except, OBSESSED. I absolutely love this color & style. I am a pretty petite woman and I fit perfectly in a size 2.
#11 – Way Better Snacks Avocado Ranch Tortilla Chips: $3.99 at Target. THESE, my friends, are the bomb.com – They are SO tasty. I don’t even dip them in anything because they are packed with flavor already. There are a few different flavors but these are my go to’s.
#12 – Sole Society Large Winged Tote: on sale for $34.98 at Sole Society. This is my new work bag and I absolutely love it. It has so many compartments and pockets to hold all my stuff but keep it organized. I took the long cross body strap off and just use the straps attached to it.
# 13 – Rice Cakes & Almond Butter: from any grocery store but of course I get mine at Target. This is seriously my new obsession. They are SO GOOD. I have been going with the Vanilla Almond Butter lately but also like the Maple. If you are in a snack or breakfast rut, look no further!
#15 – Blenders Sunglasses (North Park Style): $48 at Blenders Eyewear. You may recall I featured a different color a few months ago (Rose Theater) … I really loved those and got a birthday coupon so I ordered up another pair. This is the Sahara Dust color.
This month for my “Favorite Finds” post, I am sharing THE MOST COMFORTABLE SANDALS EVER! I am always on the hunt for shoes that are not only stylish & trendy but also comfortable! There is nothing worse than cheap, flimsy sandals that kill your feet. I stumbled across these beauties at DSW but I also looked online and Nordstrom Rack & Amazon sell them as well. I usually wear a size 7 and sized down to a 6.5 in these as they run sort of long. They for real feel like you’re walking on a cloud. I really love the back … they look really cute from behind. The platform adds a little height but it’s not too much by any means. I am going to wear them in Denver this weekend so I will give you an update on how they hold up!
I am back with round 2 of “Favorite Finds”! These eight items have been my latest purchases that I love! I will link the websites for each “find” so that all you have to do is click the title and you’ll be taken directly to where I ordered the product.
#1 – Universal Thread Sweater: $24.99 at Target. Majority of my wardrobe comes from Target. I am seriously obsessed. Even though the weather is warming up, these sweaters are perfect because they are super light and airy. I got in olive and mustard because when I find something I love, I MUST get it in multiple colors. HA. Don’t forget to use your RED CARD!
#2 – Skinny Dipped Almonds: $4 at Target. So I randomly heard about these on the “Almost 30” podcast and went directly to Target to grab a bag. They have a few different flavors but I went with the dark chocolate peanut butter ones. They are lightly coated with chocolate and a peanut butter powder. I liked how they were not super thick … there was just the right amount of chocolate covering the almond. If you order from the “Skinny Dipped” website you can use the code “Almost30” for 20% off.
#3 – Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Polish: $7.99 at Target. As part of my latest plan to save money, I decided to cut out pedicures. I couldn’t cut out mani’s …. I just can’t. But anyway, I did some research on gel polishes. I have a UV drying lamp but didn’t want to deal with all of that right now. So I found this stuff and have loved it. I got the “GET MOD” white color. It is a two-step process, with the color being step 1. You also need to purchase Step 2, which is the top coat. I use two coats of the color and then one top coat. It dries pretty quickly and went on super smooth. It has lasted a couple of weeks without any chips. I will definitely use this throughout the summer.
#4 – Patrizia by Spring Step Larissa Espadrille Platform Sandal: $49.99 at DSW. I am loving this current trend! I have lots of tall wedges but I wanted a pair that were more platform style with less heel. I was hesitant because the sizing is a bit weird but I read the reviews and went .5 size down and they fit perfectly. DSW always has a sale or coupon code so be sure to check!
#5: Blenders Rose Theater Sunglasses: $48 at Blenderseyewear.com. I think I honestly like these better than my expensive Ray Bans! They don’t have the metal prongs on the nose part which I like. They are super light weight and stylish … can’t go wrong! They always have 15% or 20% off coupons on their website.
#6: Siete Cashew Queso: $5.99 at Whole Foods. I was like beyond PUMPED to try this. I LOVE queso. I first tried the spicy blanco flavor and I wasn’t a fan of the texture for some reason. It wasn’t spicy at all either. Then I went back and got this mild nacho flavor and fell in love. It almost has a smoky nacho flavor. It is so good warmed up with tortilla chips. It’s literally completely dairy free and made from cashews. Its texture is very similar to traditional cheese based queso.
#7: Chooka Fremont Rain Boot: $49.99 at DSW. I was on the hunt this spring for a new pair of rain boots. What I liked about these, was the height. I am pretty short (5’2) so a lot of boots go all the way up to my knee. These, however, go mid-calf and I like that a lot. My previous rain boots were patterned so I was looking for a solid color this time around. These fit great and have kept my feet dry this spring!
#8: Knockout by Victora Sport High-rise 7/8 Tight: $69.50 at Victoria’s Secret. Don’t mind my face in this picture, HA. I was not planning on ever using this photo but as I am typing this post, I realized I have no picture of these except this one. Anyway, I was stoked about these because as a shorty I can never find leggings that I don’t have to roll. The 7/8 length is so perfect … fits me as normal leggings should. I absolutely love the VS sport leggings line. I have some I purchased 5 years ago that are in perfect condition. They never get little fuzz balls on them. I workout hard in them and they stay in place and have never ripped. They have POCKETS on both sides in addition to the typical waistband one. I went back and ordered the capris length too!
Well, that’s all folks! I am sure next month I will have more FAVORITE FINDS to share with you. Until then, let me know if you try any of these out!
